As a result of the sale, Citizen ID, which is part of Magnadata, will operate from Character DPM's two print operations in Warrington and Bootle, as well as its direct mail and fulfilment site in Aintree. The sale saves 111 jobs.
Character DPM Group, along with its Stockport-based subsidiary business Character Mailing Services, went into administration with Brian Green and Paul Flint of KPMG in February.
Paul Flint, associate partner at KPMG and joint administrator, said the company was "delighted" to have concluded this sale of the business and its assets.
He said: "The KPMG team has traded the business over the last six weeks in order to give the best opportunity for the business to move forward.
"At times, given the prevailing economic climate, this has been problematic - however, the resulting sale is an excellent outcome and I would like to thank Character's employees and suppliers for all their help and support over the last six weeks, and wish Magnadata Group Limited every success in the future."
Magnadata produces a range of security print products such as smartcards, RFID labels, baggage tags and magnetic tickets. It has flexo and litho printing sites in Lincolnshire and Sydney, Australia as well as a presence in the US.
