The Xerox colour 550/560 printer offers both colour and mono output and is available in two configurations.
The 550 model can print at speeds of 50ppm in colour and 55ppm in mono while the 650 offering can print at 60ppm and 65ppm respectively.
Both machines use the manufacturer's low-melt emulsion aggregate (EA) toner and can print at resolutions of up to 2,400dpi.
Xerox is pitching the new machines at copy shops, small commercial printers, in-plants and office environments.
In addition to touch-screen operation, the machines can scan, copy and fax and feature in-line finishing options such as stapling, hole-punching, inserting, folding and booklet making.
Malcolm Glynn, product marketing manager for Xerox in the UK and Ireland, said: "The Xerox Colour 550/560 is perfect for the print service provider responding quickly to high-value application demands or the office professional requiring security and workflow features to manage documents more efficiently.
"We’ve taken the most sought-after elements of digital printing and built a solution that can integrate into any print environment. It takes out any fiscal risk of a move into digital colour but with all the benefits."
The Xerox 550/560 is available immediately.
