The 770 machine offers output speeds of up to 71ppm at a resolution of 2,400dpi x 2,400dpi and is aimed at customers producing direct mail, calendars and marketing collateral.
The machine can print onto a maximum substrate weight of 300gsm and offers scanning speeds of 50ppm for colour and 80ppm in mono operation.
New to the machine is the Automated Color Quality Suite (ACQS), which is a set of software tools driven by the printer's inline spectrophotometer. According to Xerox, this helps to automate colour management tasks with minimal operator involvement.
Elsewhere, features that are also shared by the new 700i digital machine include inline finishing options such as hole-punching, folding and trimming.
Xerox has also upgraded its 550/560 offering, which was launched in the second half of 2010. Sitting beneath the company's 700 models, the machines offer A4 output speeds of between 25-50ppm and 30-60ppm respectively.
The company has unveiled three improvements to the models, an integrated in-line SquareFold trimmer module for square spine booklets, and an advanced punch option from GBC that automates the process of printing, collating and punching.
550/560 users can now also take advantage of the Mobile Print Solution option, which allows them to print securely from any email-enabled smartphone, tablet or laptop.
According to Xerox, this can be done without downloading an application or loading software.
The Xerox 700i is available to order from October while order taking for the Xerox 770 commences in November. The new options on the Colour 550/560 Printer are available from 1 November.
