A good night for Artisan as it follows up on its success in the catalogue category with another top spot. Its success owes much to the skill and dedication its team demonstrated on titles such as The Sunday Times Travel supplement, which impressed the judges with the exceptional web-printed result on low-grammage paper. The Leicester-based printer also showed off its skill with Jamie, a new launch from John Brown Media Group, which specified an uncoated offset paper. After extensive print trials, Artisan came up trumps using an elliptical dot structure in combination with 150lpi screen ruling and a bespoke plate curve to satisfy the brief of a completely new concept and feel for the magazine.

A past winner in this category and beaten finalist last time out, PCP returns with a well-earned commendation. Special mention was given to the spring/summer 2009 edition of French men's publication Twist, which challenged PCP with its high proportion of white space.

Congratulations to St Ives Peterborough on its second accolade of the evening, picking up a consumer magazine commendation to add polish to its success in the business magazine category. St Ives pushed the boundaries with the Toast bound-insert in Living Etc and the judges were rightly impressed.
