The quality on show in this category was of such a high standard that the judges found it almost impossible to separate first from second. The winner in the end, by a slim margin, was St Ives Peterborough, who deserve a big round of applause for fighting off such stiff competition. The weekly business magazine market is all about getting the most timely news into print as quickly as possible and the Peterborough-based magazine printer puts its twin Lithoman IV presses and Ferag SNT 420 to good use to satisfy exacting newstrade and mailing deadlines, such as for The magazine, a time-critical weekly that is in and out of the factory within a 10-hour period. An impressive feat, but child's play for the team when compared with Accountancy Age. The printer's dedicated staff routinely get the title in-and-out within five hours of receiving the files. As one judge put it, "very fast turnaround times indeed".

It's back-to-back commendations for the Merthyr Tydfil-based printer, which impressed the judges again this year with its "exceptional" customer service and attention to colour accuracy. Turnaround times are of crucial importance for Stephens & George's clients and the printer impressed with its ability to meet very tight deadlines without sacrificing quality, particularly on the fortnightly Independent Nurse, which features colour critical-content that the company is able to faithfully reproduce with the aid of its colour control technology.
