Pinnacle Prints adds finishing power with a Grafica swing cylinder screen printing press

Mumbai-based Pinnacle Prints has moved beyond manual operation and expanded its print capabilities after adding a fully automatic Grafica swing cylinder press to its print production facility.

Pinnacle caters to the telecom companies and also does works such as packaging and commercial jobs with "value addition".

The 22-year old printing firm has multi-colour offset presses complete with pre-press and post-press facilities, is moving very closely into "value-addition segment" after it started screen printing manual unit two years ago.

The firm's core clientele belong to telecom sector and include companies like Airtel, Vodafone and Tata.

"It isn't only about value-addition but also convenience – the silver foil that would be applied manually is now being done with the help of these machines. Not only does it makes the process automatic but also builds security into the process," said D Balasubramaniam, the founder of Pinnacle Prints.

According to him, besides the telecom, pharma and insurance are promising sectors for printing business with print finishing work coming into play. "The focus is on getting new ideas into print finishing using UV inks," said Balasubramaniam. Besides their own, Pinnacle also caters to other offset printers and packagers in and around Mumbai.

Grafica's swing cylinder press installed at Pinnacle, is capable of firing over 3,000 sheets per hour; is fitted with a jet air and UV dryer combo.

Sagar, Balasubramaniam's son helps him manage the firm. The firm's print production facility has staff strength of 150 persons and is spread across 45,000 sqft site at Bhandup in Mumbai.
