The post-press specialists is now in a position to offer "unhindered" service to the offset and packaging printers in Kolkata by offering value addition service, with speed and consistent quality.

"The cylinder press has allowed us to explore the possibilities of screen printing. We believe cylinder press with inline UV is a great combination to convert our great ideas into superb quality products," said Jitin Jain, one of the three brothers who manage the firm. Sachin and Nitin are the other two.

Established in 1985, Kohinoor Printing Press offers a basket of value addition services like diary covers, bulk wedding cards printing which are supplied to wedding card traders, pictorial calendars with glitters, labels, all types of commercial jobs and packaging (specifically sweet boxes, hosiery boxes, pharma packaging, paper carry bags, etc).

There are other advantages of the cylinder press, said Jain.  "We needed 15 persons behind five semi-automatic machines which created a jumbled scenario requiring constant supervision and housekeeping. Now, we accomplish our work with just 2-3 persons." He further stated that the cylinder press’ registration accuracy reduces wastages, "which was not the case earlier".

Kohinoor has chalked out a plan for the future. The firm presently operates from two units occupying 4,000 sq/ft. "We plan to shift to a bigger location with 15,000 sq/ft, which will house our entire printing facilities. We also plan to acquire a five- colour offset press," concluded Jain.
