Pindar picks up OBE at Buckingham Palace

Pindar chairman Andrew Pindar has received his OBE, awarded for services to business and the community, at Buckingham Palace yesterday.

The OBE was presented by The Prince of Wales at a ceremony in the palace, which Pindar described as "a huge honour".

As well as running Scarborough-based company GA Pindar & Son, Pindar sits on the board of the BPIF and is chairman of Vision in Print.

He said: "Receiving the OBE from His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales, was an immensely proud moment for me.

"It is a huge honour and something that I would like to share with my family and all the many people who have supported our projects in business, the community and sporting arenas.

"Pindar's philosophy as a company has always been to act responsibly in the community and we are blessed with some highly talented staff who have led by example and communicated our values to a wider community."

Outside print, Pindar is a keen sailor and has sponsored a number of notable sailors on round the world trips including Emma Sanderson's round the world trip in 2002-03.
