Pindar, who is a board member of the BPIF and chairman of Vision in Print, was also recognised for his support of sporting development among children in Scarborough.
He said: "I feel honoured to have received this award, and in return recognise the valuable work and commitment of both colleagues at the BPIF and the many people I have met and worked alongside in the community."
Other recipients on the annual honours list include Goodhead Group chairman John Madejski who has been given a knighthood for his work with the arts and various charities.
Pindar chief executive awarded OBE
Pindar chief executive Andrew Pindar has been awarded an OBE in the Queen's New Year's Honours list for his work in the print industry and service to the Scarborough community.
