Odessa continues expansion programme with site and post press spend

Odessa has continued its aggressive expansion programme after taking delivery of a new Kongsberg cutting table and a 3,250sqm storage management unit.

The Penge-based business has called the new cutting table "the perfect addition" to the company, one that will allow it to print and cut standees and dump bins to shape in house and become a "complete one stop shop".

The company's latest investment caps a year of expansion, which included spending nearly £1m on its digital wide-format operation with the installation of an HP Scitex XP 5300 printer and an Inca Onset S20 flatbed.

Odessa, which currently turns over £9m, its targeting the £15m mark by 2016. In addition to the Kongsberg, it has increased its storage capacity by taking over a second unit with potential to take neighbouring units as and when required.

Bob Charles, managing director of Odessa, said: "Our investment in the latest machines and space means that we are now in a position to aggressively sell our product to the marketplace. "We have the same machinery as our peers with double our turnover, but the lack of space has been a problem until now."

The new facility offers storage functionality as well as its 5m HP Scitex XP 5300 automatic 12 station collation machine and tables for picking and packing P.O.S work.

"Although it has been a very tough market this year we have grown rapidly and invested in the correct equipment and space to allow us to take our company to the next level," added Charles.
