The Penge-based business, which is a previous PrintWeek Award winner, has set about expanding its print operation in a bid to broaden its reach into the banner and point-of-sale markets.
Odessa has already installed a 5m HP Scitex XP 5300, which can print up to a resolution of 360dpi. According to the business, the machine has enabled the business to produce banner work backlight skins and internal wall papers "much quicker" than on its existing Vutek equipment.
"The next obvious investment, to enable us be able to offer the complete one stop print solution to our customers, was to make the investment in a digital flatbed," said Bob Charles, managing director at Odessa Offset.
He added: "Having investigated the market we have now settled on our weapon of choice and secured an Inca S20."
The Inca machine will be installed in May and will complement the 35-staff company’s existing wide-format battery.
Charles said: "We feel the high quality, high output machine in conjunction with our KBA 205 and existing digital equipment, will firmly secure our position in the POS market whilst continuing to offer our existing clients the facilities and reassurance that all work is produced on the most advanced and up-to-date machinery available."
Odessa Offset expects to turnover £7.9m this year, up £1.6m on the year previous. According to Charles, the company is targeting the £10m mark by 2012.
