Newcastle-based printmaking studio and gallery Northern Print gathered artists, local residents and children from the Inky Print Club to create a panoramic view from Newcastle's famous Swing Bridge to the Millennium Bridge.
The volunteers created the print by drawing and cutting out images, such as the Olympic rings on the Tyne Bridge and river monsters, onto an eight-metre long lino during courses that were held at The Sage Gateshead music venue the previous day.
The company brought in the historic, 12-tonne steamroller Coquet Lass to help transfer the collaborative illustration onto paper.
The lino board was covered in blue ink and paper was then placed on top and covered with another layer of protective board before Coquet Lass was rolled across.
Crowds gathered along the banks of the River Tyne to watch the 113-year-old steamroller impress the image, which celebrates the iconic River Tyne and the surrounding North East area of the city.
