Dave Eggleton launched Reel Deal Multi-labels last month after career stints at Charles Letts and label printers including Scotland-based NSD International.
“Reel Deal is both print manager and agency; companies looking for someone to manage their requirements can come to me,” he said.
“But I also work on an agency level where I can find the best solution that fits a client's delivery-time, production and lead-time needs.
“It's a bit of a blank canvas – for really specialist work for large-volume, on-pack promotional type of work, through to less specialist demands.”
Eggleton added that much of the work would be outsourced from Europe because of “huge cost advantages”.
He did not reveal client identities but said one few high-profile print management deal was with a leading agrochemical company, worth £250,000.
“At present this is at dipping-a-toe-in-the-water stage and is very much a work in progress, but I would want a turnover somewhere in the region of £500,000 this time next year.”
Reel Deal Multi-labels, based in Skipton in the North Yorkshire Dales, also helps cricket clubs order printing of logos onto stumps, “one of only two companies in the UK that know how to do it”.
He said: “Dealing with one label manufacturer can restrict your specifications as you may be sold the limit of their production.
“With Reel Deal we look at client requirements and create the solution with the right manufacturer. In short the client reaches their objectives without the fuss.
“Multi-page labels are complex, however buyers are also missing out on advantages of new technology on modern print processes.”
Eggleton added: “Procuring labels often is about the best price, however the management of artwork for single products to mass multiple projects needs quick results.
“When a buyer has no problems in prepress and then production, the orders repeat without question. This is what Reel Deal is all about.”
