The company worked with Premiere Products to update its label designs and enhance the peel-and-read labels with interactive content.
“We came up with a new coupon label design for Premiere Products that was printed digitally. When you peel it back, there are two extra sides printed on the inside adhesive of the label," said Berkshire Labels managaing director Paul Roscoe.
"This gives space to include more information such as additional international languages, technical information and health and safety data sheets. We also embedded the Linkz watermark into the label which takes you to a training video and shows how and where to use the product.”
Linkz, which was launched in 2012 by print-to-mobile specialist Linkz-IM, enables brand owners to track response rates to printed advertising or marketing material.
It takes the print-ready PDF for a catalogue, POS display, direct mail, magazine advert, or other printed matter and embeds an invisible marker image in the artwork that can be recognised by the app but is not detectable by the naked eye.
It also uses data capture software to track information such as the user location, number of images scanned, length of time spent on the site, and any browsing or purchasing activity while on the site.
Berkshire Labels started working with Linkz last year after being an early adopter of interactive print technology having also used Blippar’s 3D augmented reality technology on its labels.
“We offer customers different levels of interaction. Not all of our customers require Blippar’s full 3D augmented reality experience but still require interactive content and want to gain further experiences and connections with their customers,” said Roscoe.
“Premiere loved the finished product and it had a great reaction at the ISSA Interclean show in Amsterdam in May where it officially unveiled the new labels. It's now rolling out all of its products with the new label designs.”
Berkshire Labels, which employs 60 staff, predominantly serves retail customers in the food and drink, cosmetics and horticultural industries.
