Designed for single-pass, narrow format applications, the product delivers an irradiance of 8.5W/cm2, resulting in faster and more efficient UV curing that doesn't need any coolant.
Lumen Dynamics said this is the highest irradiance available from any air cooled UV LED curing system offered in the digital print industry.
The first product of the series, the Excelerate FC-201, was showcased by supplier Atlantic Zeiser at Interpack 2011 in Germany, where the company unveiled its Omega and Smartcure Air printing products, along with its Digiline Single Product 300.
Ralf Hipp, vice president of Atlantic Zeiser's Digital Printing & Coding Solutions, said: "We are pleased to be the first to offer an eco-friendly, air-cooled UV-LED curing inkjet print solution powered by Excelerate technology that presents significant advantages to the print industry.
"Lumen Dynamics is fundamental to our success towards enabling our customers to achieve highest energy efficiencies and reduced maintenance costs as well as optimum compactness for versatile inline integration solutions while achieving highest print quality."
The Excelerate FC-200 Series is designed to help companies achieve highest print quality at printing speeds of up to 60m per minute on a 36mm printing area.
Allan Firhoj, president and chief executive of Lumen Dynamics, said: "The Smartcure Air incorporates our latest proprietary air cooled LED engine, a versatile modular platform that provides the highest irradiance for exceptional drying efficiency."
The Excelerate FC-200 series was launched at IMI 2011 Inkjet Technology in Barcelona, Spain, on 8 – 9 June.
Atlantic Zeiser Group supplies technology, modules and system products for industrial digital printing.
