According to the UK-based company, the IntegraVision PQ identifies print defects as small as 0.04 mm in real time at production speeds across 100% of the web or sheet, along with the quantity, position and size of all print quality defects.
Vice president Pat Hoskins said: "We are opening new markets with IntegraVision PQ and are expanding rapidly into security printing and label printing markets.
"We are also expanding our breadth of solutions into our traditional data verification markets, such as bindery, mailing and variable printing."
IntegraVision PQ can be used on-press or on a rewinder to identify missing or broken characters, blemishes, ink and toner deterioration, streaks or voids.
It provides roll mapping of defects and can trigger devices when user definable defects are identified.
Lake Image said it has real time ability to identify errors reduces waste, returns and spoilage by identifying all print quality defects as they occur – something the company claimed is ideal for the pharmaceutical, medical and food packaging industries.
At the Print 09 event, Lake Image Systems will also demonstrate enhancements to its data integrity verification capabilities, which will include ANSI/ISO barcode grading, piece-level tracking and enterprise-wide production reporting.
Hoskins said that despite some concerns about lower attendance at the Print 09 show, the company expected it to have "the same positive impact that it has had in previous shows".
He added that for Lake Image Systems, the exhibition is less about the volume of visitors and more about delivering the targeted conclusions which will impact the business performance of its visitors.
Print 09 is due to take place on 11-16 September, in Chicago, US.
