The Suprasetter, which replaces Heidelberg's Hercules Elite imagesetter will feed Jwalamukhi's press units - Heidelberg MOV four colour and SORD - outputting 1400 plates per month.
"We have been a Heidelberg house from a pressroom perspective for a number of years and so it made sense to extend that to our pre-press," said Shivkumar, the managing director of the company
Shivkumar added: "With the Suprasetter, the plates are cleaner, they ink up quicker and is a smooth and sharp."
The commercial printer, which is aiming for doubling its turnover to Rs 6-crore by the end of the fiscal year, has produced complex print jobs requiring spot-colour service, for design brochures and premium magazines.
The 20-staff printer has also opted for fount solutions and plates from Heidelberg, which Shivkumar anticipates will open the door for a colour management workflow from pre-press through to the finishing area within the next two years.
Shankar, joint director at Jwalamukhi said: "We had to invest to speed the operation. If you're not in the race, you're not going to win it."
