The new machine, which replaces an existing Topsetter, will supplement the company's press battery that includes a new Speedmaster SM 102-2-P press.
The Suprasetter 105 with 100-plate capacity Single Cassette Loader will feed 17 Speedmaster units, a ten-, five- and two-colour, outputting 33 plates an hour compared to the Tonypandy company's previous Topsetter.
"Today Heidelberg’s B1 presses are very fast to make ready and having the larger sheet enables us to have fewer larger sections which means we can specify and use finishing equipment with fewer stations," said Malcolm Hackman, joint director at HSW Print.
The commercial printer, which is aiming for a £9-10m turnover by the end of the fiscal year, plumped for its latest two-colour B1 press to carry out public sector work that required a spot-colour service.
The 80-staff printer has also opted for three new Heidelberg folders, two buckle and a combination model, which HSW anticipates will open the door for a full JDF workflow through to the finishing area within the next two years.
David Hackman, joint director at HSW Print said: "We had to invest heavily to speed the operation up. If you're not in the race, you're not going to win it."
