Ipex Preview - Digital - Show guide: Overprinting

Atlantic Zeiser
www.atlanticzeiser.com
Stand 6C/557
On show will be a range of the 18 print engines from the firm's three product lines Omega, Gamma and Delta. Delta is the latest, and at Ipex a new 210mm-wide version – double the width of the previous product – will be unveiled.

These are stitchable to enable wide widths to be spanned. Inks include UV-cured and water-based. The UV inks use LED curing reducing the heat produced and thus increasing the range of heat-sensitive media that can be handled and also eliminate ozone production. A new water-based ink, developed in-house, is claimed to be the world's first to incorporate internal absorption control to prevent it bleeding into absorbent paper stocks.

The firm will also show the new Digiline range of integrated print solutions. Available in web, sheet and single product versions in a range of speeds, widths and colour configurations, the Digiline is aimed to provide a more off-the-shelf configuration for customers.

A new addition to the K Series is the K600, which joins the K100, K150 and K200 family of inkjet overprinters. The wider version has been introduced to meet the needs of users for wider and wider printing arrays and to provide a unit with a small footprint to provide flexible mounting options.

Domino's overprinting technology is also an integral part of the production of the IpexDaily. To demonstrate ways to personalise print and integrate it with digital media every cover will feature a unique 2D barcode produced using a Domino Bitjet+ head fitted to the Muller Martini stitching line. Visitors can either scan the code to see if they have won if their mobile phone supports the plethora of 2D barcode readers.

Stand 09/E20
While a lot of attention is focused on the Prosper presses and their litho-killing capabilities, within the Prosper range are the S5 and S10 overprinting units, which are designed to integrate into existing analogue print workflows. The S5 and S10 were the first members of the Prosper family, and therefore the first market-ready products to use Kodak's unique Stream technology.
