The new press is being run alongside a Komori Lithrone 528 and a two-colour Heidelberg GTO.

The Goole, North Humberside-based firm has also invested in an alpha.f dampening solution filtration system from technotrans in a bid to control the ink-water balance of its Komori press, which is being operated alcohol-free.

Harry Broadley & Sons, which has 12 staff and was founded 50 years ago, supplies A3 to B2 print in one to six-colour applications both to the UK and to customers in Europe.

Managing director Andrew Broadley said: "When you’re running a press alcohol-free you usually have to clean the fount regularly but since we installed the technotrans filtration system we haven’t had to go near it.

"The alpha.f has extended the life of the fount and we can go for months without having to change the filters or do any maintenance work."
