Environment part of PrintCity theme for Ipex stand

PrintCity Alliance members will focus their attentions on environmental issues and business growth at the forthcoming Ipex exhibition in May.

It will adopt the theme of Lean, Green & Seen at the May event, which will cover issues linked to industry profitability, business efficiency in relation to the environment and future growth opportunities.

The alliance, which includes companies such as Manroland, UPM and Sappi, said it believes these "three pillars of profitability" are significant due to their importance in future technology investments.

It will host a 'hub' at the Ipex show in order to demonstrate to visitors how to increase efficiency, reduce energy usage, curb environmental damage and exploit new value-added printing and packaging opportunities.

David Stamp, director of marketing and communications at PrintCity, said: "All of these issues are interrelated and important for people to make wise investment decisions with green and high-value-added solutions.

"Only since 2008 has the industry been talking about green issues. Most people are trying to think positive and what they need is knowledge and working in the alliance is about sharing knowledge."

Ipex 2010 will take place between 18-25 May at Birmingham's NEC.
