The alliance, which represents companies such as Leonhard Kurz, Manroland, Megtec, Merck, Océ, Sappi, Tolerans, UPM and Weilburger Graphics, will have a shared area for its members and other visitors.

According to the PrintCity Alliance, its area will provide a "must-see location for the sharing of knowledge on high-profile market and technology subjects".

At the event, it also plans to reveal the outcome of several joint research projects, as well as publications on key areas of the print and packaging industry.

Rainer Kuhn, managing director of the alliance, said: "Expect something very special from our members in May 2010."

Trevor Crawford, event director for Ipex 2010, added that the organisers were "delighted" to welcome the PrintCity Alliance to the event.

The Ipex show is due to take place from 18-25 May 2010 at the Birmingham NEC.
