Drupa showcases lenticular print renaissance

Lenticular printing has undergone a renaissance at this year's Drupa with DP Lenticular's Lenstar material being used by many of the leading vendors in their demonstrations.

Heidelberg is showing lenticular applications produced on its UV presses as are other suppliers, including manroland, KBA, Océ, Fuji and Screen.

DP Lenticular managing director Daniel Perrot said that the high clarity and accuracy of the Pacur Lenstar material was helping printers to adopt the technique as it produced high quality results and was easy to work with. He also highlighted how new printing technologies were helping to increase its uptake.

"Higher resolution CTP is making lenticular easier and makes it possible to have more frames," he said.

He also added that a new 40lpi lens was making the process more popular for wide format printing. Lenstar is available in seven different screen rulings from 40lpi-100lpi and can be imaged on offset and digital inkjet presses.

DP Lenticular, which was formerly known as LPC Europe is in the drupa innovation parc (Hall 7 Stand 7.0c).
