DP Lenticular cites sales up a quarter with 3D imaging in vogue

DP Lenticular reported a strong increase in sales last year, and expects the increased use of 3D in film and television to provide a boost to the use of lenticular materials for 3D printing.

This year saw the opening of Cannes with a 3D movie, said DP Lenticular managing director Daniel Pierret. With 3D film and TV becoming a main focus in the media world, we expect a major boost in lenticular printing, particularly 3D images, which can be applied in many business and consumer applications.

The firm said sales increased 26% in 2008 as agencies and advertisers sought more creative ways to communicate. It highlighted Lenticular’s use on supermarket shelves, displays, give-aways and in direct mail.

To promote its products the company will be showing its Lenstar materials at three events this month: Dimension 3 in Paris from 2-4 June, Graphitec Convertec (also in Paris) from 9-12 June and last at UV Days from 15-18 June in Nürtingen, Germany.

The firm will have its own stand at Dimension 3 and UV Days. It will be showing its 40lpi lens for very large-format printing on the Fuji stand at Grafitec Convertec.
