Donegal was previously in the same role at digital post-press specialist Highcon. Landa owner and founder Benny Landa is also one of the biggest shareholders in Highcon.
In his new position Donegal fills the gap left by Mark Dempsey, who left Landa to return to HP Indigo last summer.
Donegal took up his new job last month.
He previously worked at Indigo and then HP Indigo for more than 20 years, having joined the Indigo business back in the early 1990s. He said taking up the role at Landa “feels like home”.
“I’m super-excited to be back on the front line of the digital printing transformation,” Donegal said.
Landa currently has two presses installed on Donegal’s patch: the Landa S10P B1 perfector at Bluetree Group near Rotherham, and the straight printing seven colour plus coating S10 model at McGowans in Dublin.
Separately, the Israel-headquartered manufacturer has announced that US firm Hudson Printing has bought a second Landa S10P, six months after installing its first.
CEO Paul Hudson said the S10P’s ability to handle long-run variable data work had resulted in the Salt Lake City-based business switching up its strategic investment plans.
“The second press will allow us to pursue our vision introducing products that only this technology can produce,” he said.
The new press is set to be installed over the summer.
