The press left Landa’s Rehovot manufacturing facility in Israel earlier this week, and is bound for US commercial printer Mercury Print Productions in Rochester, New York.

Mercury runs multiple Heidelberg Speedmaster B1 litho presses, and has three Kodak Prosper high-speed inkjet presses (two full-colour 5000XLi models and a black-and-white Prosper 1000), as well as HP Indigo and Xerox digital printing kit.
The existing Landa beta installations at Graphica Bezalel in Israel and Edelmann in Germany are straight printing S10 models.
Swiss packaging, commercial print and display printer Schelling has also invested in an S10, which is currently in the process of being installed.
Landa’s Nanography printing method involves the image being transferred to the substrate via an intermediate heated blanket belt, and the perfecting version of the press has presented a number of technical challenges for the Landa development team.
It prints at 6,500sph in straight printing, or 3,250sph in perfecting mode. With the high-speed option these speeds are 13,000sph and 6,500sph.
The S10P can be configured with four- to eight-colours.
The first Landa press in the UK, at Route One Print in Rotherham, will also be an S10P. This is set to be installed early next year.
