Manufacturer Duplo had SME digital outfits firmly in its sight when it launched the DC-445 DuCreaser last year. The small-footprint device can apply up to 15 creases in a single pass and up to 50 sheets per minute.

It suits anything from 30-80ppm printers up to high-volume 110ppm digital presses, according to Duplo. As well as solving the well-documented problem of toner cracking in digital print, it can also crease offset or laminated stock. The machine, which comes with a 30 job on-board memory, can be adjusted in 0.1mm increments and has a
+/-0.3mm tolerance. Duplo also supplies two optional modules: a perforating unit for coupon-type work; and slitting tools suited to 120mm-wide CD cover output.
