Using a new duplex speed kit, which will come as standard on all new machines or can be retrofitted to existing printers out in the field, the manufacturer has increased the Drupa 2016-launched Brenva HD’s output capacity by 40%, from 197 to 275 A4ppm.

“The innovation in the Brenva platform is not only a productivity boost but it also means more applications for the customer, one of which is the extension of the range of paper substrates that can be used,” said Xerox marketing manager Catalin Caia.

“The upper limit has now gone up to 270gsm, which gives customers the opportunity to run postcards or applications that require heavier stock.”

Available as a new, additional option for the machine, meanwhile, is the Tecnau SheetFeeder BV roll-feed system for up to nine hours of non-stop cut-sheet paper feeding. Xerox said this addition enables printers to produce longer run jobs without frequent paper tray restocking.

“We’ve been partnering with Tecnau for quite some time. They’ve been developing this feeding solution not just for Brenva but also for other production colour or mono devices,” said Caia.

“Customers are able to source this either from Xerox or directly from Tecnau partners. It can be in addition to an existing feeder, so it will not replace any feeding modules that Brenva has.”

Xerox cut-sheet business vice-president and general manager Ragni Mehta added: “We’re continually looking for ways to drive new business efficiencies and opportunities for our customers, and our upgrades for Brenva HD were designed with those key elements in mind.

“Customers can now focus on maximising their business potential and growing revenue by taking on more print jobs, regardless of run length.”

The upgrades are commercially available with immediate effect and Caia said pricing would be determined on a territory-by-territory basis.
