The manufacturer premiered the Rialto 900 MP at Hunkeler Innovationdays, which was held in Lucerne, Switzerland last week.
The new roll-to-cut sheet platform increases output by 33% to a maximum production speed of 64m/min.
Suitable for producing full-colour, personalised direct mail, direct marketing, transactional statements and books, the Rialto 900 MP prints duplex jobs at a print resolution up to 600dpi using Impika drop-on-demand piezoelectric technology.
The press can handle uncoated, untreated, inkjet treated, and inkjet matt coated stocks from 60-160gsm.
Xerox head of marketing Kevin O’Donnell said: “We’ve improved the finishing aspects of this press, but not on the end – one of the things we can do inline is perfing and slitting, so we’ve now got a capability to unload whilst running, which provides a major improvement to the automation, efficiency and running of the machine.
“If you’ve invested in any press, let alone an inkjet press, you want it to be running all the time.”
The Rialto 900 MP will be commercially available in Q2 2019, with field upgradability for original Rialto 900 users beginning “later this year”. Pricing has not been disclosed.
Xerox also showed the latest releases in its Trivor and Brenva portfolios – the Trivor 2400 High Fusion inkjet press and the Brenva HD production press – at Hunkeler.
