Its new Bubble Guard Matt Plus range is 100% opaque.

“It has total opacity and doesn’t let any light through, so you can print both sides,” explained Elena Tortini, marketing manager at the Italian manufacturer.

The core can also be specified in a wide range of colours.

Bubble Guard is made of polypropylene and is 100% recyclable. It is available in six thicknesses from 2.4mm to 10mm and can be used for a vast range of applications, including heavyweight POS displays.

The standard sheet formats are: 1,220x2,440mm, 1,530x3,050mm and 2,050x3,050mm with custom sizes available to order.

The firm’s booth at the show was made from the substrate, which can have various surface treatments depending on the application.

Tortini said the sheets were “extremely flat” and Bubble Guard can be printed directly using screen or digital printing. Alternatively a range of materials can be laminated to the substrate without using glue. Bubble Guard is also flame retardant and water resistant.
