TheMagicArt Collection, which can be used to produce personalised samples for existing and potential customers, is a collaboration with software company Action Illustrated.
The package, which costs £699, comes bundled with Corel Draw X6 and offers a number of design and marketing features.
According to TheMagicTouch, it enables quick and easy preparation of production-ready designs and artwork, which are all copyright free and suitable for multiple use.
“Whether it’s POS, a brochure or a leaflet, you can make a one-off, give it to somebody and ask them what they think of it. Companies struggle to get around to making these samples, but with this software, within an hour they could start creating logos or designs for people, sending them on items and getting a response,” said managing director Jim Nicol.
“The fact that you can add it onto a piece of paper and superimpose the design you made onto a t-shirt, a mug, an iPhone case or a hat creates awareness. If you send a practical product to a potential customer, it’s something that they are likely to use and keep and they are almost certain to take your follow-up calls through courtesy.”
The templates are editable and the software recognises complete groups and text lines including all applied settings like outlines, arches and colour fills.
The firm has also introduced new XL transfer paper, which is fully compatible with selected A4 OKI printers. The new sized 220x420mm paper is designed to bridge the gap between A4 and A3 printers.
The XL paper was originally developed by TheMagicTouch with CPM (non-textile) transfer paper as demand from customers using the process for full-colour decoration of binders, folders, notebooks and diaries required full edge-to-edge transfer on their various products using A4 printer models. It is now also available for TTC3.1, for light textile, and the WoW7.7 for dark textile.
“The XL paper is a real innovation for us. We tend to find that A4 isn’t sufficient for a lot of the transfers but the gap between A4 and A3 price wise is three-fold,” said Nicol.
“With all the OKI printers there’s a unique facility to do your own custom paper size so we’ve extended the size of the paper. It’s the length of A3 and just slightly over the width of A4 and that covers 99.9% of every application that we do.”
The Dunstable-based company has recently expanded its training and demonstration facility to keep up with the demand for its new technology.
“We’ve doubled it in size because we get a vast number of people that come to see our system work and we also host a lot of sales and marketing sessions where we show people the tricks of the trade and how to impress people by producing a sample,” said Nicol.
In May the company announced that it had formed a global partnership with ceramics coater and decorator Listawood to market its patent-protected SatinMug range of high-quality ceramic mugs to printers.
