The Japanese manufacturer will show a prototype of an inline, inkjet primer for its Truepress Label 350UV SAI press, which it described as “revolutionary”, and will be shown for the first time worldwide.
Screen said that rather than having to manage offline priming of substrates prior to printing, the priming could be carried out directly inside the press, thus eliminating a production step.
“This innovative solution not only saves time and resources but could also deliver superior ink adhesion on a wide range of substrates and better print quality that enhance visual appeal and brand impact,” the manufacturer stated.
Screen Europe business development director Carlo Sammarco told Printweek: “As it is jettable we have the choice of putting down both a flood coat but can also control the laydown to be just where the printed area needs to be. This will be great to improve adhesion and improve quality but at the same time preserve the integrity of the substrate’s look and feel.”
Also new is a partnership with Nilpeter that integrates Screen’s inkjet label press with the Nilpeter FA-Line flexo system for one-pass label production with value-added features such as embellishments.
Screen also plans to showcase its water-based inkjet press for paper-based flexible packaging, the Truepress PAC 520P, at the expo.
Labelexpo Europe will take place from September 11-14 in Brussels.
