The design, RIP, vinyl cut and print-to-cut signmaking software, was launched on 29 July to coincide with the release of Microsoft Windows 10.
SAI said Flexi 12 offers customers the benefits of the latest operating system but that it is also fully compatible with Microsoft Windows 7 and 8.
Three versions of Flexi 12 are available; SAI FlexiSign for vinyl cutting, SAI FlexiPrint for wide-format printing, and SAI FlexiSign & Print for businesses carrying out both.
All three packages include design tools while vector design and bitmap editing tools are also available in the stand-alone FlexiDesigner add-on.
SAI product director Gudrun Bonte said: “Flexi 12 is the future model of software for the sign and digital print market combining a reliable, comprehensive and versatile package with a low price and easy availability through subscription or one-time purchase.”
FlexiSign’s new features include View and Change Vinyl Cutting Order, which enables users to see the pattern in which design objects will be cut and allows it to be changed manually.
Meanwhile, the Animated Cut Viewer Tool enables users to see how designs will cut before starting work, with an animated preview that shows all blade and cut movement for one or all vinyl colour layers.
New production features with SAI FlexiPrint include Banner and Canvas Finishing Tools, which quickly prepare all the finishing aspects of banners with grommet marks, folds, stitch marks and bleeds.
Meanwhile, Job Nesting Alignment Tools give fast job nesting placement across roll or sheet-fed media meaning jobs can be nested left, right or in the centre of the media, or along the edges for faster and easier cutting.
The Flexi Design application, which is contained in every Flexi product, also contains new features including the Artwork Approval Tool, which provides a faster way for printers to get designs approved by customers quickly through the SAI cloud function.
Additionally, the new QR and Data Matrix Code Generation feature makes it quick and simple for users to add interactive elements to signage.
“Restructuring the Flexi software portfolio has made it possible to bring together the most powerful combination of tools on the market at a price no other supplier can offer,” said Bonte.
“SAI Flexi 12 offers signmakers and wide-format businesses an established collection of tools that easily integrates with cutters and printers of all types, and extends the capabilities of users.”
SAI said Flexi and PhotoPrint owners can purchase upgrades to SAI Flexi 12 through SAI resellers. All current SAI Flexi Subscription users automatically receive the new software at no cost as part of their software subscription.
Flexi 12 is available on a monthly basis through subscriptions. It’s £39.95 a month for an annual commitment or £49.95 per month for the full software on a month-to-month plan.
Traditional licensing is also available. The full FlexiSign & Print package is available for £2,545 as an introductory offer until 31 December 2015. Other cheaper packages offering less features and functionality are also available.
