The Dunstable-headquartered company will sell a selection of Roland DG’s wide-format products to customers in the garment decoration industry.
The Magic Touch will initially market and sell the desktop VersaStudio BN-20 and the VersaCamm SP300i.
The machines are aimed at businesses entering the sector with niche and online offerings that can be run from home or a small office with a low level of initial investment, according to The Magic Touch managing director Jim Nicol.
Roland DG business manager for commercial print Mat Drake said of the appointment: “This is an open-ended agreement, we look for all of our business relationships to be long-term. Most of our existing dealers have been on board for decades and we hope it’s going to be the same for The Magic Touch.”
The VersaStudio BN-20, which costs £5,500 including RIP, is a desktop 20in wide-format eco-solvent print and contour cutting machine. It prints full colour, metallic or white onto media such as labels, stickers, posters and small-format signage.
The VersaCamm SP300i costs £8,500 with RIP and can also be used as a standalone cutter. It can print on a wide range of colour-fast heat-applied materials such as neon, flock, twill and glitter.
Drake said: “We’re always looking for new partners, but only partners that take us into new markets. We’re more than happy with our existing channel serving the markets that we currently supply to. The Magic Touch is expanding into new markets as well and I hope that in time they’ll take on our UV products too.”
