The business is initially selling the VersaStudio BN-20 range of desktop printers, including the BN-20A, and will also offer the new third generation TrueVis printer/cutter range, including the SG3-540/300 and the VG3-640/540.
On show at Papergraphics’ Crawley showroom already is the BN-20, while a VG3-640 is due for delivery soon, according to Papergraphics business development manager Alistair Travis.
He said the new partnership would enable the company to grow new markets.
“Historically we have a strong track record on media and over the last 10 years we have also built a very significant place in the hardware market. We’ve never offered a print and cut solution or targeted that market particularly though, so there was a gap in our hardware portfolio," said Travis.
“We started our garment printing supplies division last year where Roland has a very strong presence, so we can now start talking to customers that maybe we weren’t that relevant to before. The two firms have a strong correlation with the personalisation market whether it be retail, interiors, canvas or photographic – this is a perfect fit.”
Travis said Roland’s printer-cutter technology was superb and that the team of newly Roland-trained engineers and sales staff were keen to demonstrate the kit to their garment decor customers.
Roland DG EMEA head of sales UK & Ireland Rob Goleniowski added: "At Roland DG, we know how important it is for our customers to access our innovative machines and experts who understand them.
“That's why we are pleased to partner and collaborate with a company that has nearly four decades of experience in the large-format printing industry. This appointment will provide us a scope of customer sentiment on the ground.”
