Since January, the Monmouthshire-based business has shipped machines including two Kodak Magnus VLF CTPs to China, a Screen PT-R-8900 HDS to Jordan, two Screen PT-R-4300-S machines to Lagos, two Screen PT-R-8100 devices to Colombia, a Screen PT-4000 MkII to Tanzania, and a Screen PT-R-4300-E to Ireland.
IGS managing director Peter Flynn said the company’s continued CTP success had come about because violet plate options from some of the major plate manufacturers had reduced, and existing violet CTP users were actively looking for an affordable upgrade path.
“Another contributing factor is that early adopters of thermal CTP using Creo Trendsetters, Lüscher, or BasysPrint UV CTPs are now looking for faster and fully automatic CTP systems.
“The shipment to Jordan of the PT-R-8900 with multiple plate automatic loader is a good example, replacing a 2006 Agfa Avalon manual CTP.
“Polyester plates are now becoming very expensive versus thermal non process plates for the B3/B2 market and the interest level is high from DPX and Presstek polyester users looking to upgrade their CTP.”
IGS offers 4- and 8-up thermal CTP systems from Agfa (now ECO3), Heidelberg, and Screen. Each refurbished machine comes with installation, training, and a parts and labour warranty for UK installations.
“What we can offer customers is an upgrade path to an affordable refurbished thermal CTP,” Flynn added.
“Moving from violet, polyester and UV plates to a thermal CTP will give the users the benefit of daylight operation and the ability to use direct-to-press plates. We also hold a large stock of spare parts to guarantee the longevity of their investment.”
