First unveiled in May, BoardingPass is standalone application that was developed to enable customer facing staff to quickly check PDF files.
It integrates with the user’s email client and automatically highlights errors and drafts a reply to the submitting customer, needing no user intervention.
The software update to the free pre-release version includes Apple Mail compatibility and automatic browsing to font issues. According to Enfocus, more updates will follow shortly, including a better bleed check.
Danaher owned Enfocus reported that since the beta version was made available for free, more than 10,000 files have been checked.
BoardingPass highlighted that 61% of the submitted files contained low resolution images, 30% contained font issues and 9% were flagged for lack of bleed.
“We find it fantastic. BoardingPass addresses our need to identify job files with no-go conditions,” said Glenn Bryant, operations manager at Express Print & Mail in Australia.
The pre-release beta version will remain free to download until the commercial release of the final version. It can be downloaded from the BoardingPass area on the Enfocus website.
