The software developer’s new BoardingPass product is a tool for quickly checking PDF files, and is targeted at customer-facing staff.
From July, the free public beta will allow firms to trial BoardingPass “for a few months at no cost, with no obligation,” Enfocus stated.
“It also allows users to provide feedback which will make the product even better”.
BoardingPass is a standalone application that Enfocus anticipates will be used by people in sales and customer service roles.
It can integrate with an email client, and is designed to point out errors that would typically require a file to be sent back to the customer for resubmission. It also automatically drafts a reply.
“Without having to wait for prepress intervention, BoardingPass gives customer service agents the power to provide customers with understandable feedback,” Enfocus stated.
Enfocus senior product manager Andrew Bailes-Collins commented: “When talking to customers, we noticed a lot of frustration among printers who are hindered by long turnaround times getting feedback from prepress before they can reply to a customer.
“This creates an enormous sense of frustration for both the customer and the printer, and has a knock-on effect in production and customer satisfaction. BoardingPass empowers customer facing staff to be able to easily analyse a PDF file and respond to a customer within minutes. Not hours or days.”
Enfocus is asking potential users to register for the pre-release via the BoardingPass area on its website.
Belgium-headquartered Enfocus makes a number of software tools for file validation, workflow automation and integration including PitStop, Switch and Connect. It is owned by Danaher.
