EBB said US company WestRock closed its Charleston mill and production of KraftPak therefore moved to its Evadale mill in Texas. The KraftPak name was retained, with Evadale added to show the change.
The Evadale mill has made improvements to the product to keep up to date with current trends and technologies.
The grade is said to offer a consistent and uniform surface with an attractive natural brown appearance. It boasts enhanced printing properties and is now suitable for printing on both sides.
The product is also lighter in shade than the previous version and there is a change to the calliper grammages available.
EBB Board divisional sales manager Simon Woolridge told Printweek: “There has been a big push away from plastic towards a more natural organic look to packaging in a multitude of sectors across our industry.
“We have supplied KraftPak for numerous applications including food trays, fruit punnets, giftware, greeting cards and health and beauty. The improvement in print performance will only further enhance its appeal and increase sales of this product.”
EBB said customers can get A4 samples and trial sheets from their local EBB sales office.
