The Italian-made Digifast One, which finishes digital printed labels exclusively, runs at 80m/min and requires eight minutes to set up.
The company said the machine “boosts productivity and significantly reduces working waste” to 18m, which lowers operating costs, “a huge difference if compared to existing equipment”. In addition accuracy is within a 0.15mm margin of error.
Sales and marketing manager Chiara Prati said: “This may not be the first digital finishing solution on the market. It is, however, a fundamental step forward in terms of performance, helping our customers reach new levels of productivity, save time and cut back on waste. A high-speed, top-quality solution.” The company decided to produce a digital label finishing machine because the market for digital printed labels is growing rapidly.
Prati will debut the machine from 29 September to 2 October at booth 5C41 at Labelexpo in Brussels, Belgium. The company said it would be sold through its local network in the UK and be available soon after the show. The lead time will be 12-14 weeks.
Prati has had nearly 2,500 machines installed since launching in 1973. The Faenza-headquartered company also has a base in Mexico City. It has 35 staff and had a turnover of €12.5m (£8.9m) in 2014.
