Initially launched around 10 years ago to fulfil the increase in demand for a reverse bend matrix, the updated product now features an improved and flexible locator with additional sizes that can fit a greater variety of rule widths.
It is suitable for converting board, corrugated and fluted materials across all types of packaging or POS applications.
C&T said that, unlike traditional products, Reverse Bend Matrix prevents the cracking problems associated with full ink coverage by creasing from the unprinted side of the sheet.
Its design also facilitates one-pass concertina folds, avoiding the need for two separate passes. This improves registration of the creases and prevents potential damage to the sheet that a second pass may create.
All reverse bend products are 750mm-long and additional sizes have been added to the now 30-strong range as the result of specific customer requests.
“A lot of print finishers and corrugated and folding carton companies use this product, which we’ve seen double-digit growth on over the last three years,” said C&T commercial director Howard Mead.
“Our design department came up with the new locator, which accommodates a wider variety of substrates. We can accommodate all of our customers’ needs, from thin stock like folders all the way up to corrugated E, B and C flute materials.”
The enhanced Reverse Bend Matrix, which replaces the previous version with immediate effect, can be purchased in quantities from one box upwards.
“We’re getting a lot of people asking us what will happen if we have a hard Brexit,” added Mead.
“One of the things that we like about being a British company is that, while we do get some of our products from mainland Europe, the majority of it is sourced in the UK so our customers will certainly be safe in knowing that.”
Wellingborough, Northamptonshire-based C&T offers several brands of creasing matrix, including Kiss, Jazz, XTC and Trax Plus, and also manufactures and supplies a range of accessories for die-making, die-cutting and print finishing.
The business recently unveiled a new strategy of managed inventory for its larger UK customers and launched Rapido, which it called “a brand-new concept in PVC creasing matrix”.
