Starting at £2,495 for a 600mm-wide machine through to £4,995 for a 1.6m model, the five devices in the FC8600 range are all classed as entry-level machines.
The firm said the new machines would meet a need from some customers for more affordable, compact and less sophisticated machines than its own devices. The Graphtec machines can also be used to cut simple roll-fed jobs to free up capacity on B&W’s tables for more demanding reels and rigid boards. The firm said it was a customer’s requirement to do this that first brought Graphtec to its attention.
The FC8600 runs at up to 1.5m/s and can cut, perforate and score paper, card, vinyl, thick film and self-adhesive stocks.
“The addition of the Graphtec range means we can help smaller digital sign and graphics houses to automate production,” said B&W managing director Alex White.
