Commercially available with immediate effect, the Kiaro! QL-120 has replaced the previous Kiaro! K100 model and boasts several hardware and software enhancements over its predecessor.
The maximum print speed has been increased by 50% to 305mm/sec and a new high-speed auto-cutter is now standard. Other benefits include the ability to print narrow widths as small as 19.05mm, seamless networking capabilities and extended printhead life, the manufacturer said.
Printing at a resolution of 1,200dpi, AstroNova said the kit ensures that even the smallest font sizes and images look crisp. Its durable ink formulation, meanwhile, has a broad colour range and enables printing on a wider variety of materials.
The machine is targeted at high-mix, low-volume product manufacturers or packaging partners who want to gain control of their label production requirements.
It is suitable for printing on-demand labels or tags on gloss, semi-gloss or matt materials and because the ink is resistant to oil, water and solvents, the machine can be used for applications ranging from food and beverage to chemicals, cosmetics, medical and industrial labelling.
“The QL-120 allows new and existing customers to print vivid, compelling labels for their branded products cost effectively, when they need them,” said AstroNova president and chief executive Greg Woods.
The QL-120 is available from AstroNova’s UK operation, based in Maidenhead, with a lead time of approximately seven to 10 days, and pricing starts from around £6,800.
The device will be demonstrated at Packaging Innovations London 2018, taking place at the Olympia exhibition centre from 12-13 September.
