The new machine, configured CD 102-5+L UV, has doubled capacity for B1 printing at the Pontypridd-based company, while the ability to print UV eliminates the need for a second pass.
Zenith's new press, which was showcased at the an open house event earlier this month, complements existing B1 and B2 litho machines in addition to screen and digital printing technology.
Managing director Ken Bell said the company was focused on sustaining quality, which made colour management imperative.
"We have taken Axis Control, which is critical. Previously everything was done by a handheld densitometer but now spectrophotometric measurement is completely reliable and our wastage levels and makeready times have been much improved," he explained.
The company also plans to use the Speedmaster's fifth colour to handle special colours using both UV and conventional inks.
It will be used to print on a range of substrates that include plastics and packaging items such as cosmetics and CD boxes.
