The Sleaford-based commercial printer, part of £12m-turnover Visual Communications Solutions (VCS) Group, has replaced two B1 Komori presses with the CD 102-5LX.
The 60-staff firm will use the press for greetings cards for various high-street clients as well as commercial work, including corporate literature and company reports.
Wayzgoose managing director Peter Smith told printweek.com that greetings cards volumes sometimes hit "1m a month during the busy periods leading up to Christmas, from June onwards especially".
Smith added that the decision to switch to Heidelberg was "heavily influenced" by a six-, 12- and 18-month analysis of service costs across the VCS Group, which had been running MAN Roland, Komori and Heidelberg machines.
The £4.7m-turnover firm, which runs a 24/6 shift, also operates a two-colour Heidelberg Speedmaster, a Muller Martini stitching line and MBO folders.
