The decision to shift the production of Z-Card to the Leeds-based company was made last week, but the Runcorn World article suggested that all 80 staff had been given their notice by directors.
"That is not at all true," said Z-Card non-executive director Jo Lloyd. "The only letter we have given staff is to notify them of our decision with Scorpio."
She added that the consultation process was continuing and that there were opportunities for all staff at Scorpio.
"There are jobs at Scorpio should they wish to take them," said Lloyd. "It is a good opportunity for them [the staff]."
