Yorkshire council completes 80,000 Morgana spend

Kirklees Council has spent 80,000 on new finishing equipment from Morgana, following a recommendation from Xerox, which signed a five-year equipment distribution contract with the council in October last year.

A JDF-ready DocuMaster total finishing system, capable of handling variable data, a DigiCoater micro-format UV coater and priming system and a KB2000 perfect binder, have been installed in the council's new document solutions centre.

The centre already houses a Xerox iGen3, a Xerox 700, a Nuvera 120 and a 4127EPS.

Digital solutions manager Oliver Renshaw said: "We have known Morgana for many years and already had some of their equipment. We were also aware of the company's reputation as specialists in finishing digital output.

"The DigiCoater in particular will broaden the scope of our operation and provide an enhanced finish to output from the iGen and other units."

The facility employs 30 people and produces a huge range of work in runs of anything from one to half a million copies.
