Xerox is supplying a raft of kit through the agreement including a Xerox iGen3 production press, the recently released DocuColor 700, a mono Nuvera 120 and a 4127FFPS.
The machines, housed at the council's newly-opened 745sqm Documents Solutions facility, will be used to fulfil all of the council's print requirements and will allow it to develop further means of print communication, such as personalisation work.
Oliver Renshaw, manager of Document Solutions, said the new facility provides a "one-stop-shop" for the council's needs and will allow it to offer more on-demand print applications.
The facility recently used the iGen3 to print 21,000 copies of a 6pp A5 booklet informing residents about available benefits that they had yet to claim.
He said: "We're really pushing the level of what personalised work we can now produce. It keeps people engaged and, using the right data, helps you produce targeted, effective print."
The centralised print facility employs more than 30 staff and produces between around 600 jobs a month with runs from "one to 500,000 copies", according to Renshaw.
Document Solutions will be producing and fulfilling council tax forms, payroll, benefit statements, booklets, posters, newsletters, committee reports and training manuals.
Renshaw added: "We are really excited about our recent relocation to new premises. The facility allows us to offer a 'one-stop-shop' for the design, print and distribution needs of Kirklees council."
