MOD department completes 'refresh' with Morgana spend

One of the Ministry of Defence's (MOD) design and print departments has completed a "refresh" of its entire facility with an investment in Morgana finishing kit.

Head of the Winchester-based department at Worthy Down, Steve Allcock, said the site was now set up for the next three years after investing in a DocuMaster complete finishing system, a DigiCoater micro-format UV coater, a KB 2000 perfect binder and an EBA 551 programmatic guillotine.

The training establishment also operates a Ricoh C900 colour press.

Allcock said: "We can produce much better documents now: we can UV coat covers; we have greater flexibility over what we are able to offer our customer; and we can do everything faster. We have really upped the ante."

The facility prints magazines, posters, recruiting and teaching tools, as well as exam papers. It currently employs three print staff.
