Xpress Imprint invests in a Printmaster to compete with rivals

India's Xpress Imprint has invested in a Heidelberg Printmaster to "upgrade the company's service offering".

According to the firm. the two-colour Printmaster 52 offers Xpress Imprint the ability to better compete in the short-run, fast-turnaround market.

B Nagi Reddy, owner of the Chennai-based company, said: "We have to adapt to changing market needs to be successful. As margins deteriorate, customers start migrating to smaller volumes and shorter turnarounds.

"The Printmaster 52-2 will give us much quicker set-up times and faster job changes, which in turn, will significantly reduce material costs and enable us to supply top-quality printing at very good prices."

Established a decade ago, Xpress produces posters, leaflets, catalogues, brochures, business stationery and text books.

Its client list includes Apollo Hospitals, Vijaya Hospital Group, Coca-Cola, Sab Miller and Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan, TataTeleservices, and many SME clients. Xpress has also started to fulfil export orders to Canada and Australia.

"We are flexible to client needs and will react with the appropriate resources needed for the client's requirements. We don't sell what we have; we sell what the clients want," said Prasad B, Xpress' general manager.

Besides the Printmaster 52-2, the company also operates a Ryobi A3 single-colour sheetfed press, a silkscreen press and two guillotines.
